LOWER MERION – Residents and employees from Waverly Heights Life Plan Community gathered this summer to stuff dozens of book bags with school supplies for children. Staff and residents gathered in the Waverly Heights auditorium for an afternoon of organizing and packaging the donations of binders, book bags, calculators, notebook papers, and other school items. More than 50 book bags were stuffed and donated to the children of Waverly Heights employees and We Heard You, a mentoring program in Philadelphia.

The community’s first-ever Back to School Drive was organized by the Waverly Heights Diversity Committee, a group of staff committed to fostering an environment of belonging for all. Donations were received from residents, employees, as well as local vendors currently working with Waverly including Hometown Provisions, Maven Medical, and Contract Cleaners.
