Four members of the Waverly Heights staff were recently recognized for accomplishments in support of professional growth via the community’s tuition reimbursement and scholarship program which fosters career development.
Laura Santangelo, Waverly’s Nursing Home Administrator and Risk Manager, received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Villanova University in 2023 and is also a 2023 graduate of the Leading Age Larry Minnix Leadership Academy. Laura began her career at Waverly as a summer intern from Penn State University in 2018, then returned to become Waverly’s Health Care Center Office Manager, and was subsequently promoted to Assistant Administrator before assuming her present position. During this time, she became a Licensed Personal Care Home Administrator, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Certified Professional in Aging Services Risk Management, and Certified Dementia Practitioner.
Kerry Huzzard is Waverly’s Personal Care Administrator and a 2023 graduate of the Novare Leadership Development Program. Kerry came to Waverly as a summer intern from Penn State University in 2019 and returned in 2021 to become the Manager of Waverly’s Health Care Center. She has since received her certification in Professional Aging Services Risk Management, completed a Nursing Home Administrator’s course for which she will shortly sit for exams, and participated in the Novare Management Essentials Program.
Constance Dogan is Vice President of Environmental Services for Waverly. She received her Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Alvernia University in 2019. In addition, she recently received her Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University. Constance was a Health Care Kitchen Supervisor when she came to Waverly in 2006. She had been promoted to Manager of Kitchen Services before being promoted to her current position in 202_.
Andrea Rodriguez is Housekeeping Supervisor at Waverly. She began her career at Waverly as a Housekeeper in 2008 after several years’ experience in working in the hotel industry. One of achievements that was important to Andrea was obtaining the Executive Housekeeper Certification. She was excited and proud to be awarded this certification in 2023.
All of the awards recipients expressed appreciation for the educational opportunities provided by Waverly to enable them to better carry out their mission of enhancing the lives of Waverly residents.
